    ABOUT THERMOWARE:
Thermo-Temp Thermoware was originally introduced in 1955
as Double Wall Insulated Tumblers which were designed, patented
    and produced by Marvel Plastics.
As the popularity of the iconic Mid Century Modern tumblers increased,
the name was changed and trademarked as Thermoware and Marvel Plastics
became the Mallory Randall Corporation in late 1958.
Original sets, 1955 - 1958 were marketed as hostess items but late in 1958
the line was redesigned to introduce larger capacity items as both premium
awards and home dairy product packaging.
Production and demand peaked during the late sixties as both home dairy
packaging and supermarket premiums. Often copied but never duplicated.
These tumblers, bowls, pitchers and ice buckets are mid century classics.
The Mallory Randall Corporation also produced a product line marketed as
"Raffiaware" which were also considered to be thermal insulated. These were
two vacuum sealed pieces of plastic and differ from Thermoware since they do
not have woven or starched linen inserts visible through a clear plastic or Lustran® body.
    VINTAGE:
Original Marvel Plastics and early Mallory Randall pieces which were produced
from 1955 through 1958 and marketed as hostess serving items and executive gifts.
    TRANSITIONAL:
Mallory Randall pieces redesigned and produced from late 1958 through early
1963 and target marketed to retailers as both hostess serving items and retail
store premiums as well as home dairy packaging.
    CLASSIC:
The final iconic designs which were widely produced in late 1963 through 1969.
Hostess items such as the Hostess Caddy and Tumbler Caddy feature off white
or pale tan plastic handles. Fiberglass raffia serving trays did not feature colors.
    BOLD:
Vivid tumbler and bowl inserts and bright colors for the molded pitchers mark this
final period of production. The Hostess Caddy and Tumbler Caddy have white
plastic handles. The fiberglass serving trays feature matching starched linen
    patterns.
